My friends and I recently created a group chat, to discuss our favourite books and plan book related outings! One of my close friends shared her favourite book, "The Recovery of Rose Gold". Immediately this piqued my interest, and after expressing my fascination she very kindly offered to lend me the book!

"The Recovery of Rose Gold" by Stephanie Wrobel is an absolutely engaging and captivating read. The chapters are short and quick-paced, the writing style is simple and easy to understand without exerting too much mental strain. Usually, it's not the genre I typically read but I was captivated from beginning to end, the plot twists are top notch!!

I would classify this book as a psychological-thriller, since at times it's very difficult to decipher who the antagonist is and who the hero is. The book demonstrates a toxic relationship between mother and daughter, and is based on a true criminal record. I absolutely loved it.

Here's my friends review:

"10 out of 10! It's about a mother that convinces her child that she is sick and puts her on lots of unnecessary medications then her daughter takes revenge

At the same time it's portrayed in a way that the mother cares about her daughter in a very messed up way.

Kind of like a mother knows best...but that's all I'm giving away."

Would I recommend this book?

Definitely,

Yes,

Absolutely!

10/10

Sincerely,

Ann ❤️
