Foyles bookshop in London is the book-lovers absolute dream! I had hardly stepped one foot into the building, had I been instantaneously met with a beautiful symphony of stories, of all colours, shapes, and sizes imaginable. Standing in the middle of the Young Adults Section, I felt like I was amongst friends, I felt deeply understood, what whit all these characters silently calling out to my from between those glossy pages, itching to share their stories with me, stories I longed to hear. All these voices quickly became overwhelming and I panicked, flicking from one cover to another trying to find the perfect titles. It seemed impossible, and I was about to give up, until two teenage girls around my age came walking past me.

In high-pitched excited voices, they started gushing over their favourite titles. I couldn't help but join in when I heard them talking about "The Selection" - which is my favourite series when I am in need of quick escapism. With a few of their pointers, I finally managed to pick up the perfect 3 books and I'm so excited to share them with you all today!

1. "The One" by Keira Cass. I've mentioned before that I have a very mixed feelings regarding Keira Cass's "The Selection" series, however I've already come so far and I can't give up this commitment now. Sure, these books are nothing revolutionary but the doesn't take away from the comfort and escapism they provide. Aside from this, I am incredibly curious to discover what conclusion America Singer will end up with!

2. "The Places I've Cried In Public" - Holly Bourn

I've seen some of Holly Bourne's titles around my local library, however I've never fully committed to reading one of her works. However, when one of the girls I came across at Foyles eagerly explained that this was one of her favourite books of all time, I took this as the universe's sign that I should read this book. As a person who cries a lot myself, I am hoping to find some sort of solace in it

3. "Beautiful Broken Things" by Sara Narvard. This summer, I was given a scholarship to study harp for the duration of a 4 day bootcamp in a school in Wales. Well, during our lunch break, I enjoyed using my time to explore. One of these explorations led me to the school library, where, amongst other titles "Beautiful Broken Things" stood out to me the most. So, naturally, when I saw this book at Foyles, I just knew it would be coming home with me 😉

Along with these 3 books which I am beyond excited to check out, I also grabbed a "Foyles" tote bag to keep my babies safe in, which also conveniently serves as a cute little keep sake of our trip.

Any bibliophile who happens to be passing by Charing Cross road MUST make a stop at Foyles. Beware: you can cancel the rest of your plans for the rest of the day, in place for exploring the 5 storey bookshop. The staff are super friendly and sure to help you out, the whole place is organised by genre and alphabetically, and there's even a music floor that sells manuscripts, CDs and DVDs. The café on the top floor which sells delicious toasties, frittatas, cakes and pastries is also a nice touch!

Undoubtedly, I am going to dig in to these books ASAP! Stay tuned to check out my reviews.

Love,

Ann ❤️
