The concept of a "TBR" is quite a simple idea to grasp. "TBR" stands for "To Be Read" and is basically a list of all the books you would like to read. Exactly as the title suggest. When it comes to books, I am very particular. If it doesn't 'click' with me after the first couple of pages, I've completely lost interest and won't be able to finish it. Some important characteristics I search for in books are:
(1) Characters close to my age. I don't know why, but this really makes a difference to me. I am 16 (almost) and I find that I connect more with characters my age.
(2) Romance. This is an essential priority. I literally cannot read a book if there is no romance in it. No action or adventure, I can deal with. But no romance? That is a different story.
(3) Minimal Action. This may be a bit controversial, but I don't like adventure based books. Reading is a calm activity for me so I need a calm plot. Hopefully it makes more sense that way.
Unfortunately, seeing as I am so picky when it comes to books, I find it difficult to find stories that really resonate with me which results in a lot of reading slumps. Therefore, I decided to turn to chat GPT for help! I inputted my list of very strict criteria, to see what books this AI would recommend to me.
Here are the 3 books I would like to read:
(1) Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. I like the sound of this books because I believe it focuses on a protagonist with anxiety issues. Apparently, there is also romance involved which is always a plus! In case you are interested, here is the link: (https://www.awesomebooks.com/book/9780008172145/eleanor-oliphant-is-completely-fine/used) it's a second hand copy from awesomebooks.com. I love this website because the books are so cheap! And you're also saving the environment by shopping from this site since the books are second hand. Yay!
(2) The Little Teashop in Tokyo. Technically, this book wasn't an AI recommendation. I was in Agenda with one of my friends and saw this book. I love tea, I love Tokyo (well I'm pretty sure I do, I can't be certain because I've never visited it before) so I figured this would be the perfect book! Unfortunately it was like €13 from the shop, but luckily I found it on my aforementioned favourite website! (https://www.awesomebooks.com/book/9780008393090/the-little-teashop-in-tokyo/used)
(3) Fangirl. Another book AI has recommended to me. I saw it in the public library in Valletta once, if I ever go back I'll look for it again. It seems interesting because there should be romance involved and the protagonist is a teenage female. Great, because as I've mentioned before I tend to gravitate more towards characters my age.

For now I think I will focus on these 3 books. Of course I'll update with my thoughts on them - if I ever end up finding them. If you'd like, you can comment the books on your TBR ! Have a great day and, if you have one, hug your cat for me (because I can't since mine is too aggressive for that - I love you anyway Kasper ❤️)!
Sincerely,
Ann
