WOW. Wow wow wow wow wow!!! That's all I can say. Frankly, I think this might be the best book I've ever read - I think I've finally singled out the niche of books I love to read; memoirs. There is nothing more enjoyable, to me, than hearing people's own, intimate, personal stories narrated in their own words.
Reading this book right after Evanna Lynch's, I immediately noticed several similarities as well as contrasts. Jenette and Evanna were both child actresses; yet to Jenette acting felt disingenuous and fake, longing for something more real and to Evanna this was a sacred escape from reality. Both struggled with eating disorders; whereas in Jenette's case this was taught my her mother, Evanna's parents did everything in their power to stop this. The fear of growing up, the disgust surrounding woman hood, is shared by both.
Jenette is such a witty, fun and charming author. The pacing is incredible and I honestly didn't even get bored once while reading. I just wanted more more more more and I wish it could have kept on going on!!
It's going to be so hard to find a book to top this one. I am stunned.
