I loved this book. So much. Something about the way it is written feels so welcoming and inviting, as if you are part of the family itself. The language is quite simple so it really puts you in the mindset of the young protagonist. It's nice because you can read this book without too much effort, there are no artistic and poetic codes you need to decipher. That being said, this book can definitely be analysed deeper. Beneath the simple façade, this book is very cleverly written, in a way which addresses all the stages of grief. The title itself is a pun, "Coping with Chloe" can mean putting up with Chloe, or using Chloe to cope.

The book talks about two twins; Anna and Chloe. After Chloe dies, Anna is convinced she is still alive, only in her head. I interpreted this as the "denial" phase, to give you one example. It's a really beautiful story, at least I really enjoyed it. I found it very easy to read, and finished it quite quickly.

That being said I did finish it quite a while ago so my memory is a bit foggy.

But would I recommend this book? Definitely!

Sincerely,

Ann ❤️
